Bringing South African SMEs online with LittleFish

The COVID-19 pandemic forever altered how small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) operate, rebuild and get back to business.

However, according to the World Bank, only 37 percent of the estimated US$18 trillion payments made by individuals to SMEs worldwide are made electronically. For many developing markets, including in South Africa, where SMEs are the backbone of the economy, this is particularly important.

Neil Caldwell, Visa CEMEA’s Head of Merchant Sales & Acquiring is joined by Brandon Roberts, co-founder of LittleFish, to discuss how, in partnership with Visa, the company is enabling effortless commerce to help unlock economic potential in South Africa. The conversation focuses on how LittleFish helps to address the challenges that have commonly been faced by SMEs in this market when considering trading online, such as technical literacy, as well as complicated market entry touchpoints and solutions.
